slow spring in the shade

I have only one really shady part of the garden and things are a little slower to get started there. I am enjoying watching the leaves emerge from the ground, unfold, and reveal their unique color and texture in, what feels like, slow motion.

  1. Hey, thanks for the link in your blogroll, not sure if I knew about that! Love these photos of the great unfurling. I used to waver between fall and spring as my fav time of year but spring is definitely winning this year. Whew, maybe it's due to the awful winter (you're in OR, right?) but everything is just so much more appreciated this time.

  3. Karen - you are welcome! I love your blog. I've been visiting it for quite awhile. As a former Seattleite I enjoy trying to figure out where you are taking your pictures. Yep - I am in Portland now.

Stephanie - I bet you have fabulous leaves in Malaysia!

  4. I do love shade gardens, too. I have a hard time figuring out how to link the sunny agave areas and the shady woodlands, but I wouldn't be without either one of them.
